New 2014 Motorola Moto X UK release date
Although Motorola's told us its updated Moto X would go on sale in the UK via Amazon from the end of September, the online retail giant has a release date of 7 October for the black resin model and 15 October for the black leather alternative.
However, now has the black resin model in stock with black leather expected on 3 October and bamboo on 13 October. The Moto Maker is now live on but you'll have to wait a little while for your customised phone to be made and delivered.

The Motorola Moto X will cost £419.99 for the 16GB model and £459.99 for 32GB in the UK. Moto Maker is also finally making its way to the UK with the new Moto X, which allows you to have a custom-designed case with a leather, wood or plastic rear, as well as choose various software options. Prices for the leather- and wood versions start from £439.99 and £459.99 respectively. Also see: .
New Motorola Moto X specs
The Moto X is a stylish flagship smartphone from Motorola, which feels more premium than its predecessor with a curved (tapering from 3.8- to 9.9mm) aluminium- rather than plastic frame. It has a larger screen, a faster processor, and a better camera, too.
The Motorola Moto X features a 5.2in full-HD (1080p, 423ppi) AMOLED display, and a choice of case materials: bamboo, leather or plastic. Also see: .
The Motorola Moto X runs Android KitKat 4.4, and Motorola promises timely updates to the software.
Inside the 140.8x72.4mm, 144g Moto X is a 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snaodragon 801 processor with Adreno 330 graphics. The Moto X has 16GB of storage, with no support for expansion through microSD.
A 13Mp, f2.25 camera with dual-LED flash supports a 4x digital zoom and 4K video.
There are now four mics, and the battery capacity has been increased from 2200- to 2300mAh. The latter also supports turbo charging - you can get up to 8 hours life from a 15-minute charge.
